Shopping in the rain

Because I've been ill lately ,I had to go and do a big shop. Of course it was bucketing down. I waited until 11 AM when it seemed to ease off a bit and set off .It was like a dull November day out then a car speeding past me drenched me from a puddle. Still it was quite warm in the supermarket and Grant's whisky was on offer.
I got catfood and tins of baked beans and salad stuff and gooseberry fool to eat amongst other things..
Then came home had a nice coffee with a slosh of whisky in and listened to Radio 4 extra.
I was also reading a book ,Orley Farm and that was being read on the radio, which was spooky.
So now I'm going to lie down and chill with cats sat on me and do nothing else all day.

Poetry for June

' JUNE...JUNE...JUNE...JUNE

This is for June....and all the summers it brings
Wind chasing bells......of a Church steeple ring
Olde songs of wedlock....over top hat, and lace
'Fore June passes torch....to July's scarlet face

Tree's are full jacket's...........of multi-hue green
The last pink magnolia leaf......still can be seen
There's a breeze in the air, that carries a scent
Of her sweet honeysuckle....fresh efflorescence

Still, nights cast a chill, but June has its motive
An inviting warm flame....bright amorous votive
Moonlite romance...'neath a nautic June breeze
Make love in June sparkle like starshine on sea

not felt like blogging for a week or two

Firstly, there was the mess up with my painkillers.I was in awful pain and could barely move and it left me exhausted.
Then the outsides of the flats have been sandblasted and the noise has been intolerable.
Then on Thursday all my windows and back door were replaced. This meant on the day before,I had to move furniture again and my back felt like it was on fire.
The windows are nice, double glazed and the handles are low down and nice and large so easy for me to use.But one came pre-broken and is held together with tape.A replacement has been ordered.
The back door is painted a very nice green and has a new catflap. So yeah, have been teaching the cats to use the new one.Sabre took runs at it and charged in full speed till she figured it out.Joe sat in front of it and poked it with his paw for ten minutes to work it out .Amy is still not sure.
She is not helped by Joe who sits in front of it all day because it's just at the right height for him to look out of.He loves it.

Somewhere you went in your youth,Daily photo theme

Blackpool,if you lived in Lancashire, you went here on the train for a day.We were poor so never went on the funfair or piers. Then in autumn you got another day there to see the lights.

If the sea was out and when it went out it went a long, long way, there was nothing at all to do.In my childhood the sea had raw sewage directly pumped into it.
I was always very bored and with our family being what it was ,at least three monumental shouting matches would happen.

Having a go at the Daily Photo Theme

Tilted

Spike from Buffy.A friend of mine who is a huge SF/fantasy fan goes to a lot of cons.He bears an uncanny resebalance, all he has to do is bleach his hair blonde. He has met James Marsters who was also impressed to find a twin.
