Animals strike back

http://www.shelbystar.com/articles/bites-64260-highway-stacy.html

This guy was bitten by a snake he captured by picking up the bag it was in by the bottom where the snake was,Time for a new job really.

He learned the trade from his father who also died of a rattlesnake bite? Dullards never learn.

Who remembers...?

your mother coming in the house and taking off her clip on earrings and rubbing her poor pinched ears to get the feeling back in them?

Loveliest of trees;-A.E. Houseman

Loveliest of trees, the cherry now
Is hung with bloom along the bough,
And stands about the woodland ride
Wearing white for Eastertide.

Now of my threescore years and ten,
Twenty will not come again,
And take from seventy springs a score,
It only leaves me fifty more.

And since to look at things in bloom
Fifty springs are little room,
About the woodlands I will go
To see the cherry hung with snow.

Drinkies

Yesterday my friend Carl came round with a dead laptop for Lance to fix if he could and then borrow. It had never really worked because it came from the shop with Vista on it which pretty much meant it could run nothing. So while Lance nuked it from orbit we went out for a drink.
We went here and sat outside in the evening sun enjoying bottles of Stella Cidre.

There is always a "floorshow" of fancy dress hen parties going past.It was nice for me to get out for once but today I'm so stiff and my knees are swollen up.Still,it was worth it and I have nothing to do having shopped and done the laundry early on Saturday.
The laptop was successfully fixed.

Banks

I told you all before how I tried to set up my bank details on line and it kept insisting the line where my name went would only take numbers.Well, last week ,I felt particularly braced and went to town to sort it out.The guy at customer services tried and he couldn't do it either so he sent me to the it person. She was very nice and said it's come up a few times,is a glitch on the page and has been reported.Meanwhile, she set it up for me.
Looking at my email address,hotclaws@xxxxx ,she asked did I like cats and when I said yes, asked did I want one.I darn't take in another just yet but she said she'd taken on a dead relative's cat which did not get on with her dog and she was out at work all day. She'd phoned the RSPCA but they weren't very helpful,it wasn't in immediate danger and they are rather overwhelmed at the moment.
Luckily,I had a contact number for the Cats Protection which I gave her and she was overjoyed.
So obviously, the whole site wouldn't work so I could help out someone trying to find a home for a cat.
