Glittery Balls

Over the weekend, the kitteens finally lost all their glittery balls.

So a friend went off to town and bought some more.

They were a great hit as the old ones were second hand and not as fluffy.

The best game was to take them into the blue bag then the other kitteen could pounce you in the bag.
Logan managed to keep getting the bag handles round his waist and running round the room trailing it behind him.He never let go of the glittery ball though.

Monday At The Hospital

So on Sunday I had to have an early night because I had a hospital appointment in the morning.I thought it was lucky that the baseball game was an afternoon one but it didn't quite work out how I wanted.11 o'clock off I went to bed.12 o'clock someone came round ,drunk ,demanding to pay to get her internet on because she had an important deal to sort out.(I only take payments on Tueday and Friday and not after nine o'clock)She was most indignant when I told her to go away. She said "I don't know why you're so upset about it".
I settled back down and got to sleep, however I was disturbed at 6.30AM by the kittens fighting.

No use looking innocent you two ,yes you did.

Yes,just like this.

No,I don't care that it was a good hold.

Or that this was the winning throw.

It was my own fault because I usually feed them at around this time after the game and presumably their internal clocks told them it was breakfast time.
I had an ambulance sent for the ride ,which took about 45 mins.I was going to see a clinical psychologist about pain management.Actually, she was very helpful. Then a ride back and that pretty much did for me for the day.
I went back to lie down, got up briefly to watch University Challenge(I think it was called College Bowl in the USA) then gave up and went back to bed again. And slept, and slept, and slept.

A Day In My Life.

mintychocs

Moon in a deep sleep.

Have you ever been doing the washing up when you cut your hand?I did yesterday,I plunged into the bowl then lept back shrieking because I'd managed to chop a piece off the end of my finger on a pair of scissors in the bowl.Of course, because my hands were wet ,the blood was spreading everywhere.I grabbed some kitchen towel to staunch the flow and tripped over a kitten who was excitedly licking up the blood from the floor. As my hands were wet,the kitchen towel stuck to them making peeling a sheet off difficult.
So there I was ,sat on the floor where I had fallen, holding a bleeding finger vertically to stop the flow and the kittens decided to play "chase each other in and out of the cat flap with me as an added obstacle".That's how I got the scratch on my face that also started bleeding. That's when I found out how difficult it is to get the wrapping off a piece of plaster with wet, bleeding hands covered in bits of kitchen towel.
Do you know how difficult it is to get off the floor one handed when you have no strength in your legs or back?
I managed it,and sorted out my face too, then found out,the slice on my finger was exactly where my finger hits the keys when I type and it was my primary typing finger too.The plasters were of a special design that was neither waterproof or sticky.Throughout the day,it would curl up and stick to anything but my finger;which would then start bleeding again. The kittens found these discarded plasters to be splendid toys and ran round the flat with them, then abandoned them, meaning they stuck firmly to the sole of my foot in a way they wouldn't on my finger..
When I woke up,I found the one on my cheek had migrated and stuck an eye shut.

Logan attempting a Vulcan mindmeld with Joe.

So that was my day and the Dbacks sucked too.

Make Do And Mend

mintychocs

This campaign is being run at the moment in this country to try and help people out in the recession. However ,I was brought up by thrifty Lancashire folk and have always done this.
I've mentioned the exchange table where I have had many perfectly good tee shirts that just needed a couple of stitches in a seam.
Today, I said goodbye to a towel. It was one of a pair of very expensive ones given to me by my Gran, well, many years ago.It was cream with pink and purple flowers sprinkled sparsely on it.It was fluffy and warm but over the years has slowly worn out.I used to give all my worn towels to the local PDSA but they don't use them any more for health reasons.
I cut the corners off it, hemmed them and now have 4 new faceflannels. The rest goes in the clothes recycling bin.

Here's another use for a towel.
