Woke up this morning....

jensen ackles cat
and a pigeon had died.

There was a huge squarking and cat calling outside the back door very early this morning and when I went out to see what it was, the kittens had this.I'm amazed because it's so much bigger than they are but obviously , their double teaming had worked.I feel bad that I couldn't rescue it.

This is the kittens looking out of my bedroom window.Just outside is a compost bin which Joe loves to sit on.It gives him a wide view of my back garden and the communal garden and the bin is always warm from the composting going on.
The kittens have longed to go out there for ages.In fact in her first week here,Sabre fell out and had to be rescued.Last week they got big enough to jump out and get back by climbing up the bin.

Logan about to follow Sabre.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow,I have an appointment at the pain control clinic.I'm too ill to go ,lol.Oh well, I'll get a new appointment. The first doctor I saw was a , well not a nice man.He kept asking me what I wanted him to do and I kept saying you're the doctor not me.He said it's all down to my terrible childhood ,which is not exactly helpful.I'm going there just because it will help when I need to reclaim my benefits but otherwise was a complete waste of time.I've had to phone to cancel the appointment, phone for another one and phone to cancel the ambulance to take me there.
It's damn hard work being ill.Maybe I should find my own transport.

I found this on the internet which made me laugh because this phrase is my signature on the AZsnakepit. We are all such nerds over there

More cat news

Wrestling, they do this endlessly.Occasionally on top of me while I lie in bed which is not really comfortable.

Relaxing in the porch, between wrestling sessions.Look how long they are getting! They have glossy coats now,no more kitten fluff.

Catching a moth.I think they have done for all the mice.It looks like autumn in my flat as they keep catching leaves and bringing them in,playing with them then leaving them on the floor.

No kitty, you are a bit too small yet to tackle a magpie(they keep looking longingly at them)

Having a quick wash between plays.

I post the kittens a lot because they are growing and changing every day. That doesn't mean I'm ignoring my other two.Joe comes in several times a day just to sit by me for a minuite or two but in summer he is mostly out.He is teaching the kittens how to stalk and pounce.Moon is 16 now and spends a lot of time asleep but when I follow my baseball late at night ,she likes to sit on me and purr. She also dribbles. At first she wasn't so keen on the kittens but for the last few nights either Logan or Sabre have been curled up to sleep next to her with no bad reaction from her.Two nights ago,she deliberately draped her tail over Sabre.Last night ,I caught her washing Logan's head.My theory is she's worked out that they will be nice and warm to cuddle up to in winter and is paving the way to using them as fluffy hot water bottles.

I snagged this from the net

Random picture of Joe on the path.

I know I don't normally cut and paste but this made me laugh quite a lot.

The stupid, it burns us, precious
So this morning the vet called in Raist's insulin to the pharmacy. I called to make sure it was ready, then dashed over on my lunch break.

They can't find it. Not only can they not find the insulin, they can't even find any record of it in the system at all. If I hadn't called to confirm it I'd have thought the vet forgot to call it in, but no. And of course, the guy who had confirmed it was the manager, who was out on lunch.

Fortunately he returned about 15 minutes later and located it. They hadn't been able to find it because when the vet called it in, they created a new account under the cat's name instead of putting it under my existing account. Ok, silly but whatever. I ask for the total.

They tell me that they can't give it to me because it's not in my name.

I point out that it is for my CAT.

They acknowledge this, but whoever created the account forgot to tag it as a pet/minor account, which allows the "parent" to collect the 'scrips. Which means I know he is a cat, and they know he is a cat, but according to the system he is an adult in his own right and has to come down and sign for his own precscription.

I point out that his standard way of "signing" things is something they would strongly dislike.

They ask if that is a threat.

I ask if bring sprayed with cat urine is threatening.

They call the manager back from lunch again.

He says that I can be added to the account as an "authorized receiver" for him. I say this is fine and ask how. One of the pharmacists sheepishly points out the cat would have to fill out and sign a consent form.

I again point out the Cat Pee Factor.

Finally someone suggests that since the account was just opened by request of the vet's office, they could technically have the authorization to still modify it.

I have the vet's office call and formally request accountmodification (which largely consisted of them shouting "OF COURSE HE'S REALLY A CAT, ARE YOU RETARDED?!") and I am finally allowed to pay an insane amount for insulin, then dash out the door and screech back into work with two minutes left on lunch break.
